INTEREST RATE (Legal: 10%)

The general usury limit is 15%. Judgments bear interest at 4% above the federal discount rate. On consumer transactions, the maximum rate of interest for the first $ 1,000 is 18%, above $ 1,000, 14.45%.

HOMESTEAD EXEMPTION   The homestead exemption limit in Kansas is unlimited.

ADDING FEES

 

Except for reasonable expenses incurred in realizing on a security interest, the agreement with respect to a consumer credit transaction may not provide for any charges as a result of default by the consumer other than those authorized by K. S. A. 16a-1-101 through 16a-9-102 [the Kansas Uniform Consumer Credit Code].
