| HOMESTEAD EXEMPTION |
The homestead exemption limit in Maine is $35,000. If the debtor is 60 or over or mentally or physically disabled, then the exemption limit is $70,000. |

ADDING FEES |
It shall constitute an unfair or unconscionable act for a debt collector or collection agency to collect any amount, including any interest, fee, charge or expense incidental to the principal obligation, unless the amount is expressly authorized by the agreement creating the debt or permitted by law. |
